Patrick Gaudio

Patrick Gaudio began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey at the age of four, training under the guidance of his father, Fabiano Gaudio. His initial exposure to the martial art occurred through his father's social initiative, "Projeto Existe Uma Esperança," a community-focused project aimed at empowering and uplifting impoverished youth through jiu-jitsu.

Early Development and Top Brother Academy

Throughout his formative years, Gaudio represented the Top Brother academy, quickly establishing himself as one of the standout competitors of his generation. His early competitive style demonstrated a blend of technical precision and strategic adaptability, setting him apart from his peers.

Transition to GF Team and Brown Belt Success

Gaudio later transitioned to GF Team, training extensively under the mentorship of Theodoro Canal. His dedication and rigorous training regimen culminated in notable victories at the brown belt level, including prestigious titles at the 2014 IBJJF World Championship and the 2014 AJP Abu Dhabi World Pro. These consistent performances earned Gaudio his black belt promotion in June 2014.

In 2020, Gaudio joined the Dream Art project, dedicating two years to further refining his competitive skillset. In 2022, motivated by a desire to be closer to family, he returned to GF Team in Rio de Janeiro. Upon his return, Gaudio resumed training under his original team's banner, continuing his preparation for elite-level competitions.

Patrick Gaudio has consistently competed in high-profile matches, solidifying his reputation among the elite in both gi and no-gi formats. In October 2023, he headlined a major no-gi event, challenging Gordon Ryan for the WNO heavyweight title in Ryan's highly anticipated return match. Additionally, Gaudio was invited to compete at the inaugural IBJJF "The Crown" event in 2024, where his quarter-final match against Rider Zuchi concluded in a rare double disqualification due to inactivity. Gaudio is also a two-time competitor at the prestigious 2019 ADCC World Championship and 2022 ADCC World Championship.

Competing primarily in the super-heavyweight division, Gaudio is recognized for his versatile and adaptive grappling style. His tactical approach allows him to seamlessly transition between gi and no-gi competitions, showcasing technical proficiency in both formats. Gaudio regularly trains alongside other elite-level black belts, ensuring he maintains peak competitive readiness and technical sharpness.

In early 2021, Gaudio publicly announced his engagement to women's jiu-jitsu legend Beatriz Mesquita. Together, they form one of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's most influential couples, significantly impacting the community both on and off the mats.
